Meet the Chief

John W. Morrissey,

Chief of Police

Hi, I'm John W. Morrissey, Chief of Police for the City of Kenosha. If you are not familiar with Kenosha, it is located in the southeast corner of Wisconsin. Kenosha is the fourth largest City in Wisconsin and one of the fastest growing communities in the State, located on Lake Michigan, midway between Milwaukee and Chicago. Kenosha is an excellent community in which to live and work. With a population of more than 90,000 and an economic base, which is generating a growing number of good jobs, the community offers the advantages of a medium sized city within the orbit of two of the nation's most robust metropolitan areas. There is year-round recreation, and Kenosha County boasts one of the best park systems in the state.

Our Department prides itself on working as a team, not only within the Department, but also in the Community. In cooperation with the community and other local Law Enforcement agencies, the Police Department has teamed up in the fight against crime forming the Kenosha County S.W.A.T. Team and the Hazardous Device Squad (HDS).  The Police Department is housed within the modern Public Safety Building. The Joint Services Organization, a combined City/County operation, provides services to the Police and County Sheriff's Department that consist of dispatch, records, fleet maintenance, evidence, and the identification bureau activities.

I serve on many committees, one of my favorite is the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha, please visit their site.
